My Top 5 Fave Health Discoveries of 2023

As we enter 2024, I’ve been reflecting on all the health engendering practices I’ve incorporated in 2023. I can’t wait to share with all of you, in hopes that these suggestions will positively impact your health too!

Here are my five top health empowering discoveries of 2023:

1) Collagen

Bovine Collagen powder has changed my life! When taken daily, I notice plump, wrinkle free skin, increased energy, and mental clarity.  My favourite Collagen drink is the “Sproos” brand “Matcha Collagen Powder”. Another benefit of collagen is it’s affinity for joint pain support.

I add a few drops of vanilla, honey, and organic cream, and it is divine!

2) Facial Cupping

The face stores tons of tension, and that was even more apparent when I tried facial cupping.

Facial cupping is a branch of Chinese Medicine, which utilizes small suction cups, that are applied to the skin, after moistening the face with oil.  Once the cups are on, they are slid around the face in an outward direction – which drains swelling, and leaves the face looking refreshed and youthful.

Immediately after facial cupping, I notice a reduction in fine lines, and when combined with facial Acupuncture, it produced a glow like no other treatment!

3) Desiccated Liver Pills

This is truly dense health on the go. With my busy work schedule, I down three of these pills daily – which is why my assurance that I’m receiving my daily dose of Vitamin A, B’s, Zinc, Iron, minerals, and protein. It also contains Bromelain which is an amazing aid to digestion.

4) Fish Bone Broth

Inspired by the show “Alone”, I started to boil fish carcasses – making a rich “fish stew”. This is an Asian secret for the base of their pho and ramen broths. Not only is the taste amazing, it’s also nutrient packed. I always feel incredibly nourished after eating this dish.  In Chinese Medicine, bone broth receives the gold star for health and wellness.

5) Mouth Taping

After tried this a few times, I’ve recently committed to mouth taping during sleep every night.  Mouth taping encourages nose breathing, which causes the body to produce more oxygenation for the blood.

Even more, having the mouth closed all night protects the inside of the mouth cavity from bacteria formation.

Finally, mouth taping can lessen the instances of snoring – so it may be a good choice for whoever you share the bed with!
